PRESERVATORY APPRENTICE LEAD
Position Summary : The Preservatory at Bonton Farms supplies our farmer’s market, restaurant and outside vendors with our house made jams, pickled and pastry items.
We use local fruits and make jam, pickled and pastry items at our facility.

- Prepping fruits and ingredients, preparing all the jams, and pickled items. Labeling and organizing prepared jars.
- Complete daily prep and production of jams, pickled items, honey and gift boxes consistently and without sacrificing food quality.
- Assist in the complete production of large wholesale orders of jams, pickled items, honey and gift boxes
- Mange apprentices and volunteers that assist with production of honey, gift boxes, and labeling of jars.
- Manage the preservatory space and the needs of the building in the absence of the Preservatory Lead with a positive, supportive attitude.
- Maintain clean and sanitary work environment and station daily and maintain standards of good personal hygiene and proper uniform guidelines.
- Maintain a high standard of food quality with demonstrated efficiency in the utilization of products to control food products.
- Assist Preservatory Lead with bakery items as needed
- Assist Preservatory Lead in maintaining effective inventory levels, control prep inventories, outlet requisitions, and par levels.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
- 18 years of age or older.
- High standards for organization and cleanliness
- Engage in ongoing professional and workforce development trainings on a weekly basis
- Attend regular career coaching sessions to discuss work performance and career path
- Work with the Apprenticeship Program staff to ensure adherence to the T.E.A.C.H.E.S. and Peer Support model in working with other Apprentices or staff
- Ability to meet daily production requirements
- Proficient working with details daily for prolonged periods of time
- Work independently with minimal guidance and work well with others as part of a team
- Demonstrate leadership skills, displaying the ability to communicate effectively as a team player with staff and customers, at all times.
- Pre-Employment Must be able to obtain Texas Food Handlers License.
- Willing to be flexible to work any shift, including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime if needed
