Description

The Vendor Relations Clerk is responsible for establishing a cooperative relationship with the vendors and monitoring the status of that relationship.

In addition, this position encourages vendors to utilize electronic data interchange (EDI) and EFT services and facilitates vendor and company communication in a manner that contributes to our client's satisfaction.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :

  • Establishes and monitors Cass's relationship with assigned vendors.
  • Educates vendors on Cass products and services by initiating phone calls, which results in the creation of a cooperative relationship with the vendor's management team.
  • Educates and encourages vendors to utilize EDI billing and EFT remittance services where bill volume warrants. Facilitates the process to convert check vendors to EFT.
  • Maintains and updates the vendor database with accurate contact information.
  • Keeps leadership informed as to changes in the relationship with assigned vendors.
  • Effectively works with internal departments to eliminate potential concerns that may have an adverse effect on the relationship between Cass and clients.
  • Works overtime as required by leadership to ensure completion of time sensitive tasks.
  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a goal-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, maintain a positive attitude, and be self-motivated.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills in order to maximize vendor's responsiveness and develop a cooperative working relationship.

MINIMUM LEVEL OF PREPARATION AND TRAINING NORMALLY REQUIRED :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of experience in customer relations in a processing service environment or equivalent experience.
