The plant is located about 90 miles southwest of Houston on a 12,200 acre site near Bay City in Matagorda County.
Nurse Assoc - Lead Nurse
SUMMARY
The Nurse position performs medical & first aid assistance to individuals and employees who become ill or injured on the job.
Performs regulatory physicals, e.g. Licensed Reactor Operator, Respiratory, Crane Operator, Fire Brigade, Security, Vision testing, Hearing Testing, Return to Work, etc.
Performs Medical Case Management duties : manages FMLA and ADA absences, generates and manages required documents, monitors timesheets, completes Long Term Disability referrals, communicates with employee, managers, and any others involved in the management of absences, and manages the restricted duty process.
Evaluates, recommends, and monitors protocols, standing orders, regulatory programs, standards of treatment, and medical case management.
Coordinates and actively participates in employee wellness promotion programs.
EDUCATION
- Completion of a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) training program from an accredited nursing program and successfully pass the State Nursing Board Examination for LVNs. (Required)
- Associates degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program and must successfully pass the State Nursing Board Examination for registered nurses. (Preferred)
- Bachelors degree in Nursing (Preferred)
EXPERIENCE
5 years as a practicing nurse with experience in assessment, treatment / referral of emergency and non-emergency injuries / illness or occupational nursing experience within the last five (5) years.
LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS
- Audiometry Certification (Preferred)
- Spirometry Certification (Preferred)
- Current nurse license to practice in Texas (Required).
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Coordinates Employee Assistance Program (EAP) return to work and plant access issues with the EAP counselor.
Nurse
EDUCATION

Due to the nature of the work, this position provides the ability for a hybrid work schedule between Site and an alternate work location.
Alternate work locations require adequate technology and that a solid ergonomic setup is present. Note : Work schedules are contingent on business need.
ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS All levels
Environmental and physical requirements are subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and / or lifting up to 30 lbs;
ascending / descending stairs; sitting for extended periods of time; and spending considerable time in front of computer monitors.
