Primary Function of Position
Pricing is key to Intuitive’s long term growth objectives grounded in our desire to deliver significant value to our customers. We believe we deliver this value by aligning with our customers on the quintuple aim : better clinical outcomes for patients, a better surgeon experience, a better care team experience, equitable access to care, and lowering total cost to treat per patient episode . We also recognize that we operate in global markets with where healthcare funding mechanisms and priorities may differ – our approach needs to align with our customers globally.
The Senior Director, Strategic Pricing will lead the development of global pricing strategies for Intuitive’s full portfolio—including capital equipment, instruments, accessories, service programs, and digital solutions. You will work at the intersection of market intelligence, customer value, and corporate strategy—ensuring our pricing approach supports a balanced set of right goals, that include revenue growth, margin optimization, market expansion, or competitive positioning.
This role requires not just strategic pricing expertise, but the ability to facilitate alignment across senior leaders and navigate competing priorities to create clarity. Once the “why” is defined, you will architect the “how” through data-driven strategies, innovative customer aligned offerings, and scalable execution across markets.
Roles & Responsibilities
Define and Align Pricing Objectives
Partner with senior leadership to clarify and prioritize our business and commercial objectives—recognizing that goals such as growth, profitability, and market sharemay require trade-offs.
Lead Strategic Pricing for a Diverse Portfolio
Develop and optimize pricing strategies for capital systems, instruments & accessories, service agreements, and digital solutions, ensuring each is positioned to deliver clinical value and meet agreed commercial objectives.
Innovate in Pricing Models
Create value-driven pricing models approaches that consider our customer ‘s lifetime economics for our capital, service, and digital offerings meeting customer needs and improving adoption of robotic-assisted surgery.
Enable Data-Driven Decision Making
Translate market trends, competitive insights, and customer economics into actionable pricing recommendations that can be scaled globally.
Ensure Global Consistency with Local Flexibility
Establish governance and guardrails for pricing, balancing centralized strategy with regional execution agility.
Design and Scale the Pricing Function
Shape the vision for the Strategic Pricing team, including capabilities, tools, and structure, to ensure long-term impact and organizational influence.
