The Director of Clinical Care Coordination is responsible for leading teams that have direct oversight of our network, establishing clinical expectations, and achieving desired outcomes. The Director has oversight of CCS clinical escalations, client placement and care coordination as it relates to administrative support for the network and for client families. The position has ultimate shared responsibility for ensuring that client families are moving through their care path, have appropriate consultation and oversight for high-risk clients. The Director accomplishes these responsibilities by following proven clinical protocols and driving efforts to improve standard clinical practices. Furthermore, the Director is responsible for establishing and maintaining a person-first culture in which our clients' needs come first and our team maintains a respectful, constructive, and energetic approach to their responsibilities, guided by the strategic objectives of the organization.

Core Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions :

  • Optimize tools, processes, and resources that are in-place or newly adopted, ensuring teams can effectively manage treatment for our client population.
  • Effectively build and maintain relationships with our CCS provider partners in service of meeting our client needs.
  • Surface and address concerns regarding treatment planning and delivery, escalating through the appropriate channels as necessary.
  • Maintain a customer-focused culture as reflected in consistently strong client and provider satisfaction results.
  • Encourage high performance to allow clients to achieve their highest potential.
  • Oversee the teams' daily operations to support the goals of CCS and ultimately our key stakeholders including clients, providers, and other Family of Companies (FoC) team members.
  • Analyze clinical trends, provide updates to leadership and generate action plans to address.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
  • Ensure teams have the tools and training to appropriately interact with providers in CCS provider network and provide sound clinical consultation.
  • Collaborate with CCS leadership team to implement plans for the operational infrastructure, processes, and personnel designed to accomplish our organization's goals.
  • Effectively represent CCS through direct and indirect contact with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all program activities operate consistently and ethically within the organization's purpose and values.
  • Participate in regulatory agency / health authority inspections and communications to include coordinating actions and notifications.
  • Team staffing decisions including hiring, separations, and assignments.
  • Use an analytical approach when addressing situations to support CCS strategy and growth.
  • Complete additional job duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Behavioral Health Care Coordination.

Clinical Escalation Team :

  • Oversee the team handling complaints and grievances, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Implement proactive strategies to prevent escalations and manage them effectively when they occur.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in handling client escalations.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Support implementation and adoption of care path alterations (e.g., addition / modification of modalities).
  • Care Coordination :

  • Oversee the team responsible for client authorization management for ABA and therapeutic services, insurance inquiries, administrative report reviews, data collection, and resource support.
  • Monitor trends and operations related to service gaps, timely report submissions, and proactive authorizations and other authorization issues.
  • Client Placement :

  • Oversee the Client Placement Team responsible for matching clients with appropriate providers within the CCS network, ensuring alignment with clinical needs and provider capabilities.
  • Ensure all clients receive placement offers within regulatory timelines to maintain timely access to care and compliance with service standards.
  • Partner cross-functionally with departments such as Network Operations, Strategy, and Clinical Services to support strategic growth and optimization of the provider network.
  • Monitor placement trends and identify gaps in provider availability, collaborating with leadership to inform recruitment and expansion strategies.
  • Implement and refine placement protocols to ensure equitable, efficient, and person-centered matching processes.
  • Track and report on placement metrics, access timelines, and provider capacity to inform continuous improvement efforts.
  • Qualifications :

  • 8+ years of experience working in the mental health field with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Licensed Clinical Psychologist, LMFT, LPCC or LCSW required. Must be licensed in CA.
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in clinical operations, including oversight of clinical operations, access and client care management.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and related developmental disabilities.
  • Proven success in strategic planning, program development and managing remote teams.
  • Experience in strategic planning and collaboration with executive and key operational groups preferred.
  • Knowledge & Skills :

  • Sensitivity to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population.
  • A commitment to the values of the organization while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, patience and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Excellent verbal and writing communication skills; frequent proofreading and checking documents for accuracy.
  • Knowledgeable in evidence-based methodologies found to benefit individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • Training in the field of ABA / Behavioral Health Treatment, and knowledge of other community resources and agencies that serve children.
  • Experience interpreting and implementing policies, procedures, and regulations of CCS.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working with individuals at all levels within the organization.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Must be able to communicate effectively within the work environment, read and write using the primary language in the workplace.
  • Visual and auditory ability to work with clients, staff, and others in the workplace continuously.
  • Frequent speaking and listening (25-75%) to clients, staff, and others in the workplace.
  • Utilize computer and cell phone for effective communication.
  • Ability to utilize virtual meetings software (Zoom, Teams, etc.).
  • Conditions Of Employment :

  • Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ). The People & Performance Department must analyze DOJ / FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as fitness for the position.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain clearance through the Office of Inspector General.
  • Must attend all required training.
