Position Overview

Under the direction of the Manager of Support Services, the cook / baker ensures the dietary needs of patients, employees, and customers are met on a daily basis.

Experience

  • Previous experience working in a hospital setting
  • Previous experience in a dietary / food service setting

Education (Degree / Diploma / Certificate)

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a recognized food preparation program

Certification / Licensure / Registration

Food Handlers Certificate

Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets
  • Knowledge and / or certification in WHMIS

Physical Requirements

  • Bending and lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Use of sharp tools such as knives and industrial equipment.
  • Long periods of time standing during each shift.
  • Exposure to different chemicals.
