Summary / Objective : As a VDC Plumbing Detailer, you'll work closely with project teams and trade partners to develop detailed plumbing models, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to project specifications and codes. Your expertise in VDC tools and plumbing systems will drive the optimization of preconstruction and construction processes, reducing project risks and enhancing overall project performance.
Essential Functions : The VDC Systems Detailer will be responsible for working closely with trade partners to develop detailed, constructable 3D models of plumbing systems using VDC software such as Revit and Navisworks. In this role, you will build strong working relationships with trade partners and help coordination teams resolve conflicts and challenges. You will be responsible for delivering highly coordinated, constructable shop drawings.

Work Environment : The VDC Systems Detailer role encompasses a hybrid work environment, combining office-based tasks focused on digital modeling and coordination with active participation in fieldwork on construction sites. In the office, their work involves extended periods of computer use and detailed data management, while on-site duties require physical mobility, adherence to safety protocols, and adaptability to varying outdoor conditions.
Physical Demands for VDC Detailer
Office Environment :
Frequent sitting while working on computers or attending meetings.
Extensive use of computer screens requiring close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Frequent use of keyboard, mouse, and other computer components.
Ability to concentrate on detailed tasks for extended periods.
Construction Site Environment :
Regular on-site visits requiring walking, standing, and navigating uneven terrain.
Ability to occasionally lift or move equipment or materials up to 30 pounds.
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and potentially loud noises.
Handling and operating equipment for field layout, such as robotic total stations or laser scanners.
Ability to navigate and work safely within an active construction environment.
Ability to visually inspect construction sites and models.
General Requirements :
Ability to switch between office and field environments, adapting to different physical demands as needed.
Willingness and ability to travel to different construction sites as required.
Adherence to safety protocols and company guidelines in both office and field settings.
