Job descriptionProvide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner. Conduct regular and random patrols around the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity. Observe and report any suspicious, unusual, or prohibited activity within the location. Monitor access points and verify identification or authorization for individuals entering the shelter. Document and communicate any incidents or maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel. Assist in maintaining order and a welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Access control or badge experience is preferred. A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred. CPR or First Aid certification is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

As a Security Guard - Shelter Unarmed Patrol in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned shelter locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing a visible presence. You will interact with residents and guests, support access control, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. Working as part of a caring and reliable team, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming environment and upholding the values of integrity, innovation, and teamwork every day.
