Job descriptionAnalyze engineering drawings and interpret specifications Prepare detailed cost estimates Collaborate with engineers, shop foremen, project managers, vendors, and customers Source materials and obtain vendor quotations Generate purchase orders and assist with bid proposals Support estimating for fracture-critical work and complex fabrication projects Participate in meetings to define project scope and requirements Minimum of 3 years' experience in structural steel estimating (required) Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets Hands-on steel fabrication or erection experience Knowledge of AISC standards and industry codes Experience using estimating software (such as Tekla)
