SCI, the leading executive search firm in the real estate industry, has been retained to recruit a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the overall finance and accounting function for one of Florida’s leading affordable housing developers that has been recognized among the AHF Top 50.

About the Company

Our client is a well-capitalized yet entrepreneurial, full-service developer, owner, and operator of affordable and workforce housing communities. The company has delivered numerous successful projects serving families, seniors, veterans, and PSH residents—primarily through new construction utilizing LIHTC financing.

About the Role

Based in St. Petersburg, FL, the CFO provides strategic financial leadership and oversight for a mission-driven real estate development company focused on affordable housing. This role manages all financial aspects of the organization, including development financing, asset management, accounting, compliance, and investor relations.

Corporate Finance & Accounting

  • Manage Contingent Liability & REO Schedules
  • Complete Annual Valuation of Portfolio
  • Work with Accounting Manager annual company cash flow models
  • Work with CFO to begin taking ownership of Development Projections in conjunction with PMs
  • Monitor monthly cash flow vs projections
  • Manage Corporate Line of Credit.
  • Oversee corporate tax returns

Asset Management

  • Oversee Asset Management Department in conjunction with CEO & COO
  • Complete Year 15 capital account tracking of partnerships
  • Review monthly company financial statement notes from Asset Manager
  • Evaluate project restructuring for deals approaching the end of initial compliance period.

    • Project Finance & Accounting

  • Oversee Project Finance and Accounting Department
  • Evaluate initial project feasibility
  • Advise on structuring and financing of LIHTC, tax-exempt bond, and mixed-finance developments.
  • Oversee financial closing process
  • Oversee construction period insurance requirements and coverage
  • Ensure that project requirements, deadlines, expirations, etc are tracked.
  • Oversee stabilization process to confirm permanent debt is sized properly.
  • Oversee cost certification processManage property level tax return and audit requirements
