Join the KPFF Lacey team as an entry-level hydraulics & stream design engineer to develop design skills in a collaborative environment. This position provides opportunities to work on a diverse array of projects in a team setting, with strong mentorship from senior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with design tasks across projects such as bridge and culvert replacement, stream channel restoration, large woody material placement, and parks and recreation facilities.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stream assessments, scour and streambed stability analyses, and large woody material stability analyses.
  • Prepare construction drawings, site grading plans, technical reports, project specifications, and project cost estimates.
  • Review and submit permit applications; provide construction administration support.
  • Coordinate with design consultants, municipalities, contractors, and clients; participate in site visits and field inspections.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree or higher in a related field
  • EIT certification
  • Experience or familiarity with HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaborative skills; ability to deliver quality work
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer, reviewing plans, or attending meetings
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 15 lbs
  • Occasional field visits to project locations requiring walking, standing, kneeling, or navigating uneven terrain
  • Compensation

    The base salary range for this role is $74,000 - $93,000, determined by experience, education, and skills. KPFF offers performance-based bonuses and a full compensation package discussed during the interview process.
