American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ED Hold / Telemetry position requiring strong cardiac telemetry skills and an active AZ or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the ED Holds / Telemetry unit within an acute care settingPatient population consists primarily of ED holds awaiting inpatient placement, with higher acuity telemetry casesNurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4Nurses are required to titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Heparin, and AmiodaroneMust read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips; no monitor tech support provided12-hour night shifts with the possibility of day shifts4 weekend shifts are required within each 4-week scheduleNo call requirementsFloating to med / surg, tele, overflow units, and sister emergency departments as neededCerner EMR is usedResponsibilities include caring for ED hold patients and assisting with ED patient tasks such as vitals, IV starts, and medication administrationNavy scrubs are requiredRotation for holiday coverage is required with permanent staffTwo-shift orientation is provided for Med / Surg / Tele unitsSupport is provided by ED charge nurses and patient care techsNo ventilator patient care in this unitFailure of either the dysrhythmia exam or SIM lab assessment results in a 6-month disqualification for CommonSpirit facilities in the regionFirst time travelers are welcome to applyPermanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or compact state RN license is required at time of considerationCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications are requiredMinimum 2 years of strong cardiac telemetry experienceMust be able to titrate and decrease cardiac drips per physician ordersMust pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start with a maximum of two attemptsMust pass a SIM lab skills assessment on day one of orientationMust provide a copy of driver's license for considerationTwo professional references required : one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one supervisor or peer from within the past 3 yearsNo previous direct employment within the past year at facilities associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity\n Benefits\n
