American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Fort Myers, Florida.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with prior travel experience and Florida or compact licensure for a dynamic surgical team.

Responsibilities

  • Hospital-based Operating Room setting
  • 12-hour evening shifts on Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 10 : 30 AM to 11 : 00 PM
  • On-call required : 1 shift per week after scheduled day (2-4 hours) and 1-2 weekend 12-hour shifts per month
  • High-acuity cases including ortho, neuro, trauma, oncology, vascular, bariatrics, and robotics
  • Robotic, ortho, and neuro experience required
  • Floating required, with travelers first to float and possible float to sister campuses within 15-20 minutes
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • RNs are expected to function as part of the core staff and contribute positively to unit culture
  • Orientation starts on a Friday with remote learning and badge / ID pickup onsite
  • Hospital provides scrubs for staff
  • Floating to sister campuses may be required
  • Holiday and weekend coverage may be part of the rotating schedule
  • All time off (RTO) or schedule requests must be submitted prior to offer; requests after offer will not be approved
  • Nurses must secure local housing if relocating; commuting from a permanent residence within the 50-mile radius is not allowed
  • First-day document deadline is strictly enforced

    • Requirements

  • Active FL or compact RN license at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of recent OR RN experience
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ACLS and PALS certifications preferred
  • Degree from accredited nursing program or 5 years of relevant experience
  • Robotic and ortho / neuro surgical experience mandatory
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility’s location
  • Driver’s license address must match the address on the Board of Nursing
