Overview
The Department of Employment, Training & Rehabilitation (DETR) is the state's lead workforce development agency. It consists of divisions that offer workforce related services, job placement and training, services for people with disabilities, investigation of claims of discrimination, unemployment insurance benefits, labor market data and more.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, the Staff Attorney will prepare briefs and other responsive pleadings for Petitions for Judicial Review to the district courts throughout Nevada and the Nevada Supreme Court. They will attend court hearings (usually remotely) and review Public Records Requests and subpoenas for compliance. In addition, the incumbent will draft regulations on behalf of the Employment Security Division and advise the Administrator on legal issues pertaining to the Division.
While these are the major responsibilities, the successful candidate will be expected to perform other job-related duties and may be required to develop additional specific job-related knowledge and skills.

Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and graduation from an accredited law school is required, as is membership in the State Bar of Nevada.
