Physician Advisor
H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center is conducting a search for a Physician Advisor under the Department of Quality with a dual appointment in the Department of Internal and Hospital Medicine.
The Physician Advisor role at Moffitt Cancer Center is a unique role in which 80% of time is dedicated to Physician Advisor roles and responsibilities and 20% is dedicated to clinical care.
A Physician Advisor plays a crucial role at Moffitt by providing guidance and support related to clinical documentation, coding, compliance, and utilization management.
Their primary goal is to ensure that healthcare services are appropriately documented, coded, and billed while adhering to regulatory requirements.
The Physician Advisor works closely with hospital leadership, the entire medical staff including residents and advanced practice practitioners (APPs), case managers, social workers, clinical documentation specialists, coders and billers and the quality team.
The Physician Advisor will report directly to the Chief Quality Officer and have a dual appointment in the Department of Internal and Hospital Medicine.
Requirements
Successful candidates must have a medical degree (MD / DO) or foreign equivalent, plus completion of residency training program in Internal Medicine, Board eligible or Board certified, Florida medical license or ability to get one, and qualified to obtain hospital privileges.
