Responsibilities Work in a 10-bed SCU / Telemetry unit within an acute care, Critical Access Hospital setting Unit includes 5 ICU and 5 telemetry beds, serving patients with a wide variety of diagnoses including vented surgical, trauma, COPD, and COVID Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1 : 3-5 depending on acuity Uses Epic EMR system and Phillips cardiac monitoring equipment Full-time night shifts (7pm-7am), 36 hours per week Rotating weekends and holidays as part of the permanent staff schedule Potential to float to MedSurg with full assignment with ratios of 1 : 5-6, though floating is rare Unit provides 24 / 7 respiratory therapist support; pharmacy is available but not in-house 24 / 7 Responsible for managing drips, vents (including Bipap, Cpap, and high-flow), and telemetry monitoring EKG testing required for consideration Team includes one patient care tech with a nurse-to-tech ratio of 1 : 10 during night shift Orientation includes one shift on the unit with a preceptor Travelers cannot self-schedule but block scheduling can be accommodated based on unit needs Required to wear navy blue scrubs with specific guidelines for jackets and personal appearance RTO (time off) rules follow unit and facility guidelines First-time travelers are accepted Candidates must maintain a professional attitude and willingness to work Requirements Active WV or compact RN license required Minimum of 2 years of relevant RN experience Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required) PALS certification required; NIHSS is preferred Epic charting experience preferred Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel assignment Must be fully COVID vaccinated or have approved exemption Must not have worked as a permanent or travel RN within the WVU system in the past 2 years Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-633838.
