We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud System Engineer with a strong focus on security to join our dynamic team.

As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security.

You'll be supporting and working alongside a talented cross-functional engineering team on the latest technologies. You will bring prior experiences, best practices, and a collaborative attitude to help drive cloud engineering initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, document, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions using industry best practices, with a strong focus on security for AWS and Azure
  • Implement automation, effective monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code
  • Collaborate with software engineers and architects to develop cloud-based applications and services, ensuring that security measures are implemented throughout the development lifecycle
  • Implement and maintain robust security measures in the cloud infrastructure to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and scalability, while continuously assessing and improving security posture
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues in a timely manner, with a particular emphasis on security-related incidents
  • Automate cloud infrastructure processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort, while incorporating security best practices
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing and security, and recommend improvements to enhance our cloud infrastructure's security posture

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience in a similar position, supporting similar responsibilities
  • Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role, with a focus on security for AWS and Azure
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, with a deep understanding of their security features and best practices
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, with a focus on implementing security controls
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, with the ability to automate security-related tasks
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, and their security implications
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols, with a focus on securing cloud networks
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and address security vulnerabilities and incidents
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate security requirements and recommendations
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, IT, or a related field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, IT, or a related field
  • Experience managing ArcGIS Enterprise in the cloud
  • Relevant certifications in cloud computing and security (such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Security, Microsoft Certified : Azure Security Engineer, Certified Cloud Security Professional)
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools, with a focus on integrating security into the development and deployment processes
  • Knowledge of serverless computing and microservices architecture, with an understanding of their security considerations
  • Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines and version control systems, with a focus on incorporating security testing and validation
  • Experience with security monitoring and incident response in cloud environments
