THE POSITION :

Clinical Regulatory Specialist (CRS) is responsible for positively impacting company regulatory and clinical outcomes by working collaboratively with the clinical management at Central Florida Kidney Centers.

The CRS will also conduct clinical internal audits and reviews, ensuring that staff consistently adheres to state and federal CMS regulations and stays focused on driving outstanding clinical and regulatory outcomes in the clinics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES :

  • Performs internal clinical audits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory standards and CFKC's established policies / procedures.
  • Follow up with Nurse Managers, the Director of Operations, and the Clinical Education Manager on the creation and completion of Plans of Correction for both internal and external reviews.
  • Assists in the QAPI process at CFKC.
  • Assist outcome management and improvement in collaboration with management team members.
  • Assist in developing clinical process improvement initiatives using clinical and outcome data.
  • Assist in training new Nurse Managers in the QAPI process, ensuring each manager follows established CFKC practices.
  • As needed and directed, assist in coordinating the clinical education of all new hires within the region.
  • Reviews quarterly education compliance reports and communicates staff compliance or any deficient results to the Clinical Education Manager.

Coordinates and conducts ongoing PCT certification review classes as needed and directed.

Assist in coordinating and conducting regional preceptor training as directed.

MARGINAL DUTIES :

  • Participates in multi-disciplinary patient care conferences.
  • Participates in patient and staff education.
  • Assists in initiating and implementing patient and family education regarding rehabilitation and / or home health care needs.
  • Plans, schedules, coordinates, and explains tests and procedures provided by other medical facilities as necessary.
  • Upholds and supports company mission in words and actions. Speaks respectfully to patients and co-workers and strives to follow company policies and procedures, asking when unclear.
  • Serve as a role model and mentor for staff and support continuing education initiatives.
  • Must be capable of handling a code situation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

TRAVEL : 20 30% within assigned territory.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :

  • 2 years' experience in dialysis as a Registered Nurse
  • Knowledge of all applicable regulations governing ESRD facilities with proven success in managing and improving ESRD clinical outcomes. High school diploma.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :

  • A valid State of Florida driver's License is required.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) required.
