Overview
Provides advanced equipment and process support for manufacturing operations, focusing on the maintenance, repair, and optimization of all equipment utilized in the facility's workcells. This role acts as a critical resource for machine performance, process improvement, and NPI support.
Responsibilities
- Execute preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, ensuring on-time completion and accurate maintenance record-keeping.
- Serve as the first point of contact and primary escalation resource for complex equipment issues, providing expert line support to Machine Support Technicians.
- Diagnose and implement long-term solutions for repetitive equipment problems to minimize downtime.
- Aim to maintain less than 5% equipment downtime facility-wide.
- Drive improvements in key line metrics, including efficiencies and yields.
- Develop and apply knowledge of manufacturing processes to optimize equipment performance.
- Measure department performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Interface with department and line supervisors to determine work priorities based on production schedules.
- Provide the primary, front-line contact between Machine Support and Manufacturing functions.
- Conduct training for Machine Support Technicians to elevate team capabilities.
- Facilitate New Product Introduction (NPI) and prototype runs within the area of responsibility, ensuring smooth process integration.
- Ensure awareness of and compliance with all Health and Safety procedures and regulations.
Qualifications and Knowledge
Problem Solving : Ability to define complex problems, collect relevant data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to drive effective solutions.Mathematics : Proficient in fundamental arithmetic, rate, ratio, percent, and interpreting graphs.Computer and Software Proficiency : Advanced PC skills; strong proficiency in Windows-based OS and related software; ability to train others.Communication : Written and verbal communication skills to write clear correspondence and SOPs and to present information to managers, clients, and the public.Reading Comprehension : Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, visual aids, short correspondence, and memos.Work Habits and Logic : Ability to apply common sense and multi-step instructions to handle standardized, variable situations.Note : Be aware of fraud.
