Senior Structural Engineer
LHB is looking for a highly motivated Senior Structural Engineer to join our Energy and Industry team. The position will be based in our Duluth or Minneapolis, Minnesota offices.
Position Summary
The responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to :
Work effectively in hybrid work environment
- Work closely with current and prospective customers to create new business opportunities and promote business development
- Prepare or assist with proposals, tracking budgets and schedules, and workload forecasting
- Actively participate in virtual and in-person project and department team meetings
- Communicate with clients, contractors, engineers, architects, and vendors
- Meet client objectives and exceed their expectations
- Supervise other engineers, designer, and technicians
- Direct and review project drafting
- Prepare and review structural design calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Perform construction site visits and field observations, review RFI's and submittals
- Prepare written technical reports
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program12 years of prior structural engineering associated with concrete, structural steel, masonry, and timber structures as well as specialized analysis and inspectionsProfessional Engineer licensure and the ability to become licensed in additional states upon requestValid driver s license with ability to travel domestically, intermittentlyFamiliarity with AutoCAD and / or RevitDemonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Mathcad, and structural analysis software such as RISA and / or STAADAbility to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and work outside in most weather conditionsUpon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal / civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulationsPreferred Qualifications
Passed 16-hour Structural Engineering (SE) ExamExperienced using AutoCAD and / or RevitPossess excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and problem-solving skillsExperience with pipeline, power delivery, mining, pulp and paper, and / or other industrial workVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with constantly changing prioritiesMSHA CertificationAttention to detail, quality, and accuracyAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and to work independentlyGood oral and written communication skills, including technical writing abilitySalary Range
This position's anticipated base salary range is $110,000- $140,000 annually (This position is eligible for yearend & profit-sharing bonuses) Offer will be determined based on the selected candidate s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.Benefits
