About The Position
Job Title : Critical Care Registered Nurse
Profession : RN

Hours per Shift : 12 hours
Experience : Minimum of 2 years of ICU RN experience
License : Must have an active RN license
Certifications : ACLS, BLS, PALS / ENPC, TNCC preferred but not required
Must-Have :
- Recent ICU experience
- Ability to float between campuses if necessary
- Pediatric / adolescent patient care experience may be required
Description :
Critical care registered nurses provide care to patients with severe medical issues.
Patients may have suffered a heart attack, stroke, shock, severe trauma, or respiratory distress.
Key duties include assessing patient conditions and planning care.
Registered nurses treat wounds and provide advanced life support.
They assist physicians in procedures and observe patient vital signs.
Ensuring the proper function of medical equipment is essential.
Administering intravenous fluids and medications is a core responsibility.
They suction patients and collaborate with the critical care team.
Registered nurses respond to life-saving situations following nursing standards.
Acting as patient advocates is an important aspect of the role.
Providing education and support to patient families is also necessary.
Critical care nurses may care for pre- and post-operative patients.
Some nurses may serve as case managers and policy makers.
Others may perform administrative duties.
