The Interventional Radiology Technician 2 provides high-quality imaging using various modalities such as neurovascular and endovascular angiography examinations.

Collaborates with teams to collect data pre / post-procedure and prepare patients for procedures in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (CVIR).

Safely and competently operates all radiographic, processing, and inventory equipment in CVIR. Acts as a Liaison between physician, family, and other interdepartmental units.

Participates with teams in unit assignment quality assurance projects.

Shift : Full Time, (4) 10-hour shifts

Hours : 7 : 30 am to 18 : 30 pm

Location : Alexandria Hospital

Job Responsibilities

• Assists RNs to accurately explain procedures to patients and families to ease anxiety.
• Troubleshoots equipment effectively and places service calls to Biomedical when necessary.
• Anticipates procedure flow and works with other team members to produce the highest quality care.
• Provides a safe environment and identifies hazards immediately. Follows unit protocols to take corrective actions as needed.
• Demonstrates proficiency in imaging modalities in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology such as digital, laser printing, and cut film.

Requirements for Consideration :

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiography; Associate or higher degree preferred
• ARRT registry in Vascular Interventional (VI), Cardiovascular (CV) or Cardiovascular Interventional(CI) required.
• Minimum one year of work experience as a Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology Technologist.
• Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
