As the Director of AI Security, you will lead and grow a high-impact, multidisciplinary team dedicated to safeguarding AI systems across UnitedHealth Group. This strategic leadership role is responsible for defining and executing both proactive and reactive measures to protect against adversarial and non-adversarial threats.

You will be at the forefront of developing and operationalizing robust security frameworks for large language models (LLMs) and other AI technologies, ensuring they are resilient, trustworthy, and aligned with our ethical and regulatory standards. You will design and implement advanced testing methodologies-including red teaming, adversarial simulations, and model robustness evaluations-to identify vulnerabilities and you will build guardrails that mitigate risks against malicious and non-malicious threats across diverse use cases in healthcare.

This role requires a unique blend of deep technical expertise in AI / ML systems, a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, and proven leadership capabilities. You should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, influencing at the executive level, and driving change in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

• from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
