Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide essential speech and language services to students. The SLP will work collaboratively with educators and families to support students' academic and social success, addressing communication challenges in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessment & Evaluation : Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students communication needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
- Therapeutic Services : Deliver individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on articulation, language development, fluency, and social communication skills.
- Collaboration : Partner with teachers, special education staff, and families to integrate speech-language goals into Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and classroom activities.
- Progress Monitoring : Track and document student progress, updating therapy plans as needed to ensure continued success.
- IEP Participation : Actively contribute to IEP meetings by providing expert input on speech-language goals and services.
- Professional Growth : Stay informed on best practices through professional development opportunities.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all services comply with federal and state regulations, including Illinois State Board of Education guidelines.
Qualifications
Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.Valid Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist license or CCC-SLP certification from ASHA.Experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders and therapeutic strategies.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Familiarity with special education processes, including IEP development.Empathy, patience, and a commitment to student success.What We Offer
