  • VP of Human Resources (Retail Groceries) Position Type :   Full-time Location :   Los Angeles, CA Salary Range :  $200,000-220,000 + bonus Job ID# :   160260 Job Description : Position Overview The Vice President of Human Resources will serve as the strategic leader responsible for shaping, scaling, and executing the company’s HR vision and organizational strategy.
  • This role will lead all HR functions—including talent acquisition, HR operations, employee relations, compliance, total rewards, training and development, and HR systems—while driving cultural transformation and operational excellence.
  • The VP of HR will partner closely with the executive team to design and implement people strategies that enable business growth, workforce stability, and leadership effectiveness across a multi-state, high-volume retail environment.
  • This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role suited for a dynamic, results-oriented HR executive with deep experience in retail, grocery, or large-scale consumer goods operations.
  • Key Responsibilities Lead the strategic direction and operational execution of all HR functions, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and values.
  • Drive a “People First” culture that fosters engagement, retention, and performance excellence across diverse and dispersed teams.
  • Partner with the executive team to design organizational structures, workforce planning, and leadership succession frameworks.
  • Oversee multi-state HR operations, compliance, and employee relations across retail stores, warehouses, and headquarters functions.
  • Evaluate and modernize HR systems, tools, and vendor relationships (HRIS, payroll, benefits, talent management systems).
  • Lead the HR team (including talent acquisition, training, and HR operations) to deliver scalable, data-driven solutions.
  • Partner with finance and operations leaders to align compensation, benefits, and performance management with business priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO, CEO, and department heads on organizational effectiveness and change management.
  • Ensure legal compliance and risk mitigation across all employment practices in a multi-state environment.
  • Champion diversity, inclusion, and leadership development initiatives across all business units.
  • Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred. 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience , including at least 5 years in a senior or VP-level HR role within the retail, grocery, distribution, or consumer goods industries.
  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English required to communicate effectively with clients and partners.
  • Proven experience managing HR operations for a large, multi-state workforce (5,000+ employees preferred).
  • Strong understanding of U.S. labor laws, HR compliance, and organizational development in retail or warehouse settings.
  • Demonstrated success leading cultural transformation, HR modernization, or system integrations (HRIS, payroll, shared services).
  • Hands-on leader with the ability to operate strategically while engaging directly with field operations and frontline employees.
  • Experience overseeing HR vendor partnerships and implementing performance-driven HR frameworks.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and change management skills.
