Responsibilities
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Development and Technical Support to ensure high quality products and processes are developed and deployed. Activities include product design verification, process validation, risk assessment, and FMEA.
- Apply structured problem-solving methods (5 Why, Ishikawa diagrams, DMAIC, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiment).
- Gage R&R and Capability studies as needed.
- Conduct complaint investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions based on engineering analysis.
- Monitor and report on quality metrics to identify product quality improvements.
- Review and ensure all process, material and procedural changes are technically sound and compliant with FDA, QMS, and ISO Quality Procedures.
- Provide statistical support and analytical problem solving for product development and manufacturing.
- Supplier management including auditing and Supplier Corrective Action Requests.
- Implement quality training programs in collaboration with management.
- Identify areas for quality improvement and initiate cross-department projects to address issues, including product safety and COPQ reduction.
- Drive 6S updates related to quality and quality processes.
- CMM programming, FAIR measurements, and custom gage creation for developing products / projects.
- Interface with production personnel and cross-functional teams (operators, quality engineers, inspectors, shop floor supervisors, program managers, project engineers, design engineers).
- Support QMS SOP development for compliant, high-quality products.
- Lead Material Review Board (MRB).
- Test Method Development and Inspections for incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
- Participate in internal quality audits.
- Provide detailed, data-driven input to support business objectives.
- All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Certified Quality Engineer or Reliability Engineer.Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.Effective leadership and interpersonal skills; strong decision-making abilities.Strong analytical skills; proactive and independent working style.Working knowledge of injection molding equipment and processes.Working knowledge of machined part equipment and processes.Working knowledge of part inspection techniques.CMM programming.Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.6–9 years' experience in a regulated, fast-paced medical device manufacturing environment.Hands-on experience in statistical analysis.Proficient in Microsoft Office products.Experience in ISO13485 manufacturing environment or equivalent.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated problem-solving skills (Root Cause Analysis / Problem Solving Methods).Ability to follow safety policies and work safely.Travel : 10%
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range for this position is $105,000 to $120,000 annually, with a 3% target bonus. Benefits include Medical, Rx, Vision, Dental, Health Savings Account (HSA), 401(k) and Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, paid Holidays, and 16 hours annually for Nordson-sponsored volunteer opportunities. Nordson offers a Matching Gifts Program.
