Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring a SD or compact license, advanced cardiac skills, and strong coronary and peripheral case experience.
Responsibilities
Work in the Cardiac Cath Lab of a level II trauma and teaching hospitalPatient population includes coronary artery disease, STEMI, cardiogenic shock, complex occlusions, valvular and renal disease, carotid and peripheral stenosis, thrombosis, and advanced device insertions such as Impella and LVADRN-to-patient ratio is 1 : 1Position involves specialized skills such as critical assessment, sedation drug administration, and operation of devices including IABP, Impella, Rotoblator, and PenumbraUtilizes EPIC as the primary EMR; experience with Epic Cupid is preferred10-hour variable shifts with a 40-hour work weekOn-call required 1-2 days per week from 1630-0600 and every 4th weekend from Friday evening to Monday morningWeekend rotation every fourth weekend and possible holiday requirementDuties include assessment, direct patient care during procedures, device operation, and responding to critical situationsOrientation consists of 4 days with 10-hour shiftsSupport provided by a charge nurse Monday through Friday, no CNA or phlebotomy supportNo floating between departments requiredProcedural scrubs are providedFree parking availableFirst-time travelers considered only if highly experienced in complex coronary and peripheral casesTime off must be approved by the managerRequirements
Active SD or compact RN license requiredMinimum of 2 years Cath Lab RN experience with expertise in coronary, structural heart, complex PCI, and peripheral casesCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredGraduate of an accredited nursing programExperience with critical patient assessment, vasoactive and sedation medications, and sterile technique requiredMust live at least 100 miles from the facilityExperience with EPIC EMR required and Epic Cupid preferredPrevious permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a travelerBenefits
