About Aalo Atomics
Aalo Atomics is pioneering a new era in clean energy with factory-fabricated microreactors designed to deliver affordable, scalable, and reliable nuclear power. Our mission is to make nuclear energy globally accessible, starting with the Aalo-1, a 10 MWe reactor leveraging cutting-edge safety, modularity, and efficiency. Based in Austin, TX, we're rapidly growing as we work to deploy the world's first fleet of advanced microreactors. Join us and help revolutionize energy for a sustainable future.
About the role
Join our mechanical engineers in Austin as we refine, scale, and document the manufacturing processes that turn advancedreactor designs into hardware. Over a 12 to 16week term you will own a clearly scoped projectfrom concept through implementationwhile gaining daily mentorship and shopfloor experience.
What you'll do
- Build and update 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and GD&T for machined or additivelymanufactured parts.
- Program and prove out CNC toolpaths on 3axis mills and 5axis millturn centers alongside machinists.
- Draft work instructions, router steps, and inspection plans that satisfy ASME and internal quality standards.
- Collect production data, perform rootcause analysis on nonconformances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Apply lean or SixSigma techniques to cut cycle time or scrap on an assigned cell.
- Present your findings and quantified results to engineering leadership at the end of the term.
