If you are a talented IT / Cyber Security student in the 3rd or 4th year of your bachelors program or in a masters program you may be the perfect fit to the Cyber Security team at ICCU.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with various IT and Information Security projects and tasks to gain an understanding of how technology and controls are implemented and used within the organization.
  • Assist in a wide variety of team projects,participate in team meetings,and gain experience working in a professional corporate environment.
  • Gain hands on practical experience of cyber operations and other IT department responsibilities, providing tier one support to deliver appropriate response and resolution to cyber incidents or events.
  • Learn and develop essential cyber security skills around incident and event analysis, threat hunting, identify and access management, vulnerability management, control implementation, penetration and control testing, security frameworks, and governance, risk, and compliance.
  • Assist in team projects and assigned tasks including critical daily process validations, audit reviews and researching contemporary cyber security tactics and strategies.
  • Assist in operational support and maintenance of physical security components and systems.
  • Support password management systems used by the organization
  • Assist in documenting and compiling data for monthly operational reports and other report types.
  • Develop aptitude in tuning and optimizing detection and response systems, data loss prevention systems, and malware defense systems under the direction of team or department leadership.
  • Develop the communication skills necessary to participate in and contribute to a world class cyber awareness program.
  • As assigned, work on auditing various systems and user configurations. Document and communicate audit results with manager and work with proper team to correct any findings.
  • Perform special projects as determined by departmental leadership.
  • Gain and refine interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with co- workers, department heads, and various levels of management.
  • Develop and refine planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Gain hands on experience working in a team-based environment.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the IT team to discuss projects and issues to be resolved.
  • Gain experience working under general supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates are attending an accredited college or university and are working towards an IT degree with a specialty in Information Security, Information Assurance, or a similar field of study.
  • Candidates will be energetic, organized and passionate about technology with the desire to build a career as an elite cyber defender.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team-based environment are required in this environment.
  • An ability to dedicate 25-40 hours per week to this internship program and an ability to maintain the confidentiality of the Credit Union and member records at all times is mandatory.
  • A high level of professionalism with a demonstrated ability to work well with others is required.
  • The ideal candidate will be a quick learner and a motivated individual with natural analytic, problem solving, and root cause analysis skills.
  • An ability to effectively communicate verbally and with written communication is required, including presentation of complex concepts in easily understood ways.
  • A willingness and ability to confidently interact at multiple levels in the organization and participate in cross-departmental team projects is necessary.
  • Other attributes include : An ability to pay attention to detail while working on many concurrent projects and initiatives;

A cooperative and positive attitude toward members and other Credit Union staff.

Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and all other regulations and laws pertaining to the activities of ICCU.

Physical Requirements :

  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.).
  • Sit for extended periods of time.
  • Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc.
  • Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Reach keyboards.
  • Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
