ERA/EIG LatAm Associate
EIG LatAm is seeking to recruit an Associate to assist us in managing our transaction portfolio and in growing business.Main Responsibilities : · Under the supervision of a transaction leader and in coordination with our Head of Portfolio, support the monitoring of risks and opportunities in the portfolio : produce annual reviews for loan monitoring assignments within the existing project finance portfolio, analyze waiver requests and take ownership of the internal approval process· Support deal team leader in the production of credit applications for approval of new transactions including preparation of a summary of transaction, description of main participants and detailed risk analysis, as well as financial modeling (assessing a base case projection and performing sensitivity analysis) · Become expert in the bank's internal systems and procedures necessary to successfully process and close project finance transactions.
Contribute to the integrity and accuracy of the bank's data in our systems · Communication with clients, on select aspects of the transaction (in portfolio or in execution as the case may be) that the Associate is responsible for (e.
g.timetables, financial model etc.)· Participation in marketing efforts, sector research and other commercial or administrative duties.
A successful candidate will demonstrate most of the following characteristics : · Having strong interest in the Latin America region and good understanding of its credit cycles, and at times challenging political and / or regulatory environments· Being committed to self-development, demonstrating an attitude that seeks and encourage the sharing of expertise within the team· Having strong analytical skills, especially in risk analysis, as well as an understanding of the contractual framework and documentation structure typical of non-recourse financings· Strong knowledge of financial modelling and the required basic accounting principles, debt sizing, and familiarity with its best practices· Be proactive by making him / herself available to assist other deal teams in timely critical tasks whenever work bandwidth allows be a team player· Proven experience in the credit process for project finance transactions or for similar products Knowledge of CACIB credit systems is a plus· Ability to maintain / build trust relationships internally such as with credit officers, middle & back-office · Strong communication skills, verbally and written ability to act methodically and in an organized way· Ability to work under time pressure and to manage effectively tasks with competing priorities, potentially involving different deals teams which may not have the full picture of potential conflictsSalary Range : $130k2+ years within banking industry and / or energy & infrastructure sectorsBachelor's DegreeMBA or Masters Preferred...
