Our construction client in South Milwaukee is seeking a temporary Payroll Specialist for the next four months. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of payroll processing experience and a willingness to assist with HR-related tasks. UKG Ready experience is also a plus. The position is full-time hours Monday through Friday and fully on-site with an ability to move to hybrid once trust is established. Please apply for immediate consideration.

Key Responsibilities
- Support and serve as backup to the current Payroll Specialist for weekly, multi-state payrolls (400 employees)
- Assist with payroll processing, timecard management, and resolving payroll discrepancies
- Maintain accuracy of employee data within UKG Ready (or similar HRIS)
- Assist with HR-related tasks such as onboarding, benefits administration, and employee record updates
- Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and Operations teams to ensure accurate and timely processing
- Handle sensitive employee and payroll data with discretion and confidentiality
Qualifications
2+ years of payroll experience required (multi-state experience preferred)Experience with UKG Ready or a comparable HRIS / payroll system strongly preferredExposure to HR support or HRIS data management is a plusProven ability to work independently with minimal supervisionComfortable in a fast-changing, growth-oriented environmentStrong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
