Application Developer II
Brooksource’s Fortune 500 Energy client is searching for a Application Analyst II for their IT Corporate Solutions group to bolster their application development and support team with new application developers who will be responsible for the development and maintenance / support of the HR (Human Resources) Workforce Hub (WFHUB).
The technologies used by our team include Informatica, SQL Server, Kafka, among others. Analyst will work with HR Product Owner and WFHUB IT Subject Matter Experts to gather requirements and assist with our development and move to AWS.
This position is for someone who is self-motivated, flexible with new projects and technologies, and eager to learn.
This position will possess the following primary job duties :
- role will play a primary role with the development and move to AWS, along with assisting with troubleshooting and maintenance of our current WFHUB data.
- apply functional programming concepts in any language; quick to pick up new language or adopt a more recent version of an existing language.
- in required programming languages such as Informatica, SQL Server, Kafka.
- understanding / experience with AWS (i.e. Aurora Database, Glue).
- able to design and build complex software solutions.
- experience turning complex ideas into user stories. From there, can turn user stories into workable solutions, providing estimates to complete the work, and breaking down complex work into smaller components.
- issues and implements fixes for HR applications and can work effectively with less defined direction requiring greater judgement.
- agile methodologies to develop and maintain applications.
- product owners and business users with questions.
- appropriate Human Performance tools, especially during testing and implementation activities.
- with testing and migrating code through test regions. Ensures adherence to appropriate design, coding and source control standards.
- maturity, confidence and a proper level of assertiveness when needed. Effectively handles stress and frustration. Demonstrates the ability to absorb change and continue with positive results.
- appropriate information including downtimes, change management, status, issues, defects, etc. to users, IT management and any other necessary audience.

Required Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of related business experience. Work experience in addition to degree : 3-5 years as an IT Application Analyst or equivalent.
- 2-4 or more years coding / programming, trouble-shooting, problem-solving, logical design, SQL coding, Business Requirements analysis, vendor management, root cause analysis
- Strong interpersonal skills and written / oral communications skills to work effectively with business partners, peer IT resources, managed service providers and all levels of management
Technical Skills (in order of preference) :
- Informatica ETLs
- SQL Server
- Kafka
- AWS knowledge (Aurora DB, Glue)
- Experience with modern source code management tools and processes.
- Has deep understanding of the development cycle.
- Experience working with remote teams
- Agile Project Delivery Approach
- Demonstrated understanding of data integration architectures including ODS and Data Warehouse concepts
- Demonstrated success in complex problem solving and an understanding of quality delivery
- Demonstrated ability to work with others having differing priorities / views / goals than your own; to meet your goals
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with Web Services
- Self motivated and able to work independently or with a team
- Ability to learn / adapt quickly to a rapidly changing environment
