Job descriptionPatient Demographics : Pediatrics (75%), Adults (25%) Patient Volume / Census : Variable, ~15 shifts / month Admissions : No direct admissions; consult-based Rounding : Included Phone Consults : Yes Case Mix : NICU babies (no hearts), pediatric orthopedics (no spine), ENT, dental, GI, MRI sedation, general pediatric surgery, adult general anesthesia No. of Beds in Department : TBD Trauma Level : Not specified EMR System : Epic Office Equipment Available : Standard hospital Specialty Backup Available : CRNAs Support Staff Available : CRNAs, anesthesia techs Reason for Coverage : Team growth, turnover vacancy Hospital Privileges Required : Yes Temporary Privileges Available : Yes Credentialing Timeline : 90 days Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance : Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES Pediatric anesthesia : NICU, ENT, dental, GI, MRI, general surgery, orthopedic (no spine) Adult anesthesia : General cases Medical direction and solo cases Licenses : Active Pennsylvania medical license (IMLC accepted) Board : Board Certified in Anesthesiology (Pediatric fellowship required) DEA : Active DEA required Certifications : ACLS, PALS Experience : Minimum 1 year post-training Other Qualifications : Ability to work with both pediatric and adult patients Provide anesthesia services for pediatric and adult patients Perform solo cases and provide medical direction for CRNAs Cover weekday, overnight pager call, and weekend beeper call Respond to pediatric cases while on pager call (30-minute response) Ensure safe, effective perioperative care in line with hospital protocols
