The Department of Anesthesiology
at Duke University Medical Center is seeking exceptional
candidates to apply for the position of Chief, Division
of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology. The ideal candidate
will be a fellowship-trained and accomplished cardiothoracic
anesthesiologist at the Assoicate Professor or Professor rank with
national prominence, and a well-respected, dynamic and innovative
leader. Priority will be given to candidates with a proven track
record of academic productivity, as demonstrated through
high-impact publications, thematic-based research, and / or grant
funding.
The Division Chief of
Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology will :
Lead clinical operations
to ensure excellent patient care with a focus on outcomes
Develop the strategic growth plans for the
division and participate in health system Heart and Vascular
Service Line initiatives
Foster effective
collaboration and coordination among divisional faculty and other
services and health system stakeholders providing cardiothoracic
services
Facilitate medical education for
medical students, residents and fellows in cardiothoracic
anesthesiology; provide oversight for Duke?s ACGME accredited
Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellowship
Enhance faculty development opportunities
Lead innovative scholarship in cardiothoracic anesthesiology
Promote leading-edge research and cultivate
an environment of academic curiosity and collaboration
Provide programmatic excellence in health
outcomes through evidence and value-based models to optimize
inpatient care
Cultivate a networked
divisional culture with agile teams focused on engagement,
transparent resource allocation, and professional growth
The Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology
Division within Duke Anesthesiology is one of the leading
cardiovascular and critical care programs in the nation. Our
world-renowned faculty provide comprehensive, cutting-edge care for
cardiothoracic surgical patients in cardiothoracic operating rooms
and ICUs in the Duke Medicine Pavilion, a modern surgical tower
with 16 state of the art operating rooms, hybrid rooms, an imaging
suite with MRI and CT technology, and five ICUs serving adult
