Performing Arts And Events Operations Staff
The purpose of the position is to assist in providing hands on cleaning / custodial / set-up services during the hours that the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center (LPAC) is open to the public, and to complete all customer service functions related to LPAC events, under the general supervision of the General Manager or designee. Employees in this classification ensure professional customer courtesy, oversee the physical plant during shows, communicate effectively with the Operations Coordinator to ensure timely house opening, direct the general public, enforce all safety and show specific policies and procedures throughout the venue, and full scale clean up in the house, lobby, and backstage areas after the event, on an on-call / temporary basis. Position is responsible for ensuring the overall preparedness of the LPAC to ensure the success of the events and performances.
Assists Department in areas including, but not limited to, hands on interior cleaning / custodial duties, event equipment set-up and tear down, light exterior maintenance (including removing fallen palm fronds on event day, marking VIP parking spaces, cleaning up litter, putting dumpsters out for pick-up, etc.), customer relations, guest wayfinding, enforcement of all show related policies and procedures, and overall building safety. Provides professional, customer-focused, welcoming service, including activities such as greeting patrons / clients, directing patrons throughout the facility, and escalating patron concerns to the Operations Coordinator. Maintains a physical presence at the work location; maintains punctuality and work a flexible schedule including night, weekend, holidays and events. Participates in sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, surface cleaning, trash removal and recycling, as directed. Communicates with Operations Coordinator when episodic maintenance work is needed at the facility. Assists with special event set-up and break down, as directed. Assists the Operations and Event Manager with special projects, including painting, light bulb replacement, sign installation, hurricane preparedness, etc. Assists in clearing tables during a catered function. Performs related work as required.
High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution AND a valid State of Florida Driver's License.
Custodial and / or janitorial experience.
