Primary Focus Areas
- Strategy and Brand – Maintain knowledge of sector-related industry drivers and trends, regulations, and technologies across North America and globally. Use this knowledge to identify and prioritize opportunities to support our clients with emerging challenges; strategically grow our technical capabilities and people resources to meet client needs; and foster a strong industry brand differentiating Stantec. Implement branding strategies to promote Stantec and the sector; participate in national and international professional trade organizations; manage conference participation to maximize brand presence.
- Delivering Excellence – Recruit and retain a distributed team of sector professionals, across all career levels and geographies. Connect sector practitioners with project managers and delivery experts to plan and deliver high-quality, innovative solutions. Work with Delivery leaders and Water's Innovation Leader to support digital delivery tools, innovative approaches, and new technologies.
- Positioning and Pursuit – Collaborate with regional growth leaders and account managers to develop relationships with key clients, connect internal subject matter experts to strategic pursuits, and identify new project opportunities related to priority sector growth areas.
Your Key Responsibilities
Coordinating with the US South Regional Growth Leader, you will be responsible for :
Identifying and supporting the win of strategic pursuits in collaboration with local Business Center Practice Leaders, Account Managers, and business developersActing as a liaison between local / regional teams and the North American Sector Leader and practice community to leverage technical skills locallyReinforcing our brand as a leader in water treatment through active participation in industry organizations, thought leadership, and engagement with strategic clientsProviding leadership to our water treatment professionalsYou Will Be Expected To
Regularly engage with clientsActively participate in industry associationsLeverage understanding of US South market dynamics to support and grow the water treatment portfolioIdentify how technology changes affect clients and the businessCollaborate across the region to share knowledge and resourcesContribute to the North America Water Treatment Team to implement strategy across the continent and bring services from the broader Stantec organization to clientsHelp recruit, retain, and inspire a team of water treatment professionals across multiple levelsEngage in delivery of water projects as a subject matter expert, leveraging expertise, industry best practices, and innovative technologiesWork with sector leaders and practice leaders to leverage internal resources for projects and pursuitsDemonstrate a commitment to the Health and Safety culture within StantecKey Performance Indicators
The Regional Sector Leader will develop and implement an annual Regional Sector Plan that aligns with the Sector Plan and the Regional Business Plan. The plan will identify key market opportunities, priorities, and strategies to keep Stantec at the leading edge of the industry. Key performance indicators will include metrics specific to the Regional Sector Plan, as well as those applicable to all leaders.
Engagement in Top 20 Regional strategic pursuit opportunitiesCollaboration with other Regional Sector Leader counterpartsConduct at least three client or industry touch points per month, coordinated with regional leadership and account managersActive participation / leadership in one or more industry / trade organizations and / or professional associationsPeople leader goals, including helping maintain sector team capacity by partnering with regional / delivery teams on strategic recruiting / hiringStaff development and succession planningRegular participation in Stantec ERG / DPG or similarDeliver blogs, seminars, webinars, workshops, articles to advance Stantec's brand in coordination with Water's PR and communications teamHSSE goals and targets for leadersReporting and Utilization
The Regional Sector Leader reports to the Sector Leader and collaborates with subject matter experts, project delivery specialists, Regional Growth Leaders, and other leaders to grow capability and capacity of the sector across the Region.

Utilization target ranges from 50% to 70%. Location preferences in the US South include :
Miami area (Coral Gables or Deerfield Beach), FLTampa, FLHouston, TXAustin, TXDallas, TXAtlanta, GACharlotte, NCNashville, TNHybrid work environment; travel to clients and offices a minimum of three days per week.
Key Qualifications And Experience

Pay Transparency
In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Final compensation is based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Some roles are bonus eligible at Stantec.
