Estimated Weekly Salary : $2090–$2140

Healthcare Setting : Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet Facility

Unit : Family Maternity (MMC6500-7B)

Assignment Type : Travel Nurse Contract

Start Date : December 15, 2025

End Date : March 16, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Nursing Shift : Night shifts, 12 hours (18 : 45 - 07 : 15), 3x12 or 4x12 per week

Hours per Week : 36

Weekend Requirement : Every third weekend

Guaranteed Hours : Up to 36 hours may be called off per 13-week assignment

Scrub Color : Provided

Parking : Free parking permit

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience

Active Illinois RN license required at submission

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN Beginner / Intermediate, FHM)

Teaching hospital experience preferred

EFM interpretation skills / experience required

Experience with Cerner charting system preferred

Ability to float within scope to meet hospital staffing needs

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted)

First-time travel nurses accepted

L&D RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive patient care to laboring mothers and newborns in a Level I trauma, acute care hospital

Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and postpartum care

Perform and interpret external and internal fetal monitoring

Administer medications and therapies including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips

Support breastfeeding and lactation education for new mothers

Educate parents on newborn care, car seat safety, and discharge instructions

Respond to obstetric emergencies including hemorrhage and abnormal fetal heart rate patterns

Float to other nursing units as needed to support hospital staffing

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including social services, rapid response, and interpretation services
