Serve as primary analyst and recognized expert for housing credits of varying size and complexity, demonstrating advanced knowledge of affordable housing markets, housing finance agencies, and community development finance institutions

Lead and mentor junior analysts in complex analytical matters, providing expert guidance on housing sector analysis while role-modeling analytical curiosity and collaborative teamwork to build organizational knowledge

Apply comprehensive credit knowledge to analyze complex bond securities, economic indicators, management structures, governance frameworks, and challenging deal-specific situations while making well-informed recommendations

Participate actively in rating committees as a subject matter expert, contributing analytical insights and influencing credit decisions through well-reasoned presentations that demonstrate mastery of S&P methodologies

Communicate complex housing analysis effectively to diverse stakeholders including issuers, municipal advisors, investors, and media through analytical reports, timely industry commentaries, and thought leadership pieces

Manage analytical resources to deliver high-quality analysis across your portfolio while ensuring annual surveillance requirements are met and maintaining S&P's quality standards

Foster a risk-aware culture by leading by example and ensuring analytical rigor in all housing sector evaluations

All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week

Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate complex housing market dynamics to diverse audiences both internally and externally

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment while operating with autonomy and requiring minimal direction

Change-ready mindset with preparation to adapt to a changing work environment, including AI-human analytical workflows.

Additional Preferred Qualifications :

Master's degree in business, public policy, public administration, finance, or related field

Experience with housing finance agency operations, affordable housing tax credits, or community development finance

Track record of mentoring and developing analytical talent within financial services or rating agencies

Compensation / Benefits Information :

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $158,000, depending on location, experience, and skills. This role is eligible for an annual incentive plan and additional S&P Global benefits.

Our Hiring Manager says :

"I'm looking for the kind of person who has analytical curiosity and loves a challenge. Working on a diverse yet complex portfolio of credits will allow you to learn new skill sets, but you must also be willing to lead other analysts in more junior positions, and to provide support to their analytic portfolios as well. You'll love this job because it involves evaluating the public sector while working for a private company."
