Summary:
Provides assistance in identifying, evaluating, and resolving human relations and work performance problems within the Company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Recruits, interviews and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
- Initiates contact with temporary agencies and external recruiters to identify qualified candidates for specific job openings.
- Plans and conducts new employee orientation.
- Schedules individuals for job-related skills training to ensure understanding of job duties and improve individual work performance.
- Updates employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses.
- Examines employee files to answer inquiries and provides information to authorized persons.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and company programs.
- Talks informally with organization personnel and attends meetings of managers, supervisors, and departments to facilitate effective communication among participants, when needed.
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee related issues.
- Evaluates human relations and work-related problems and meets with supervisors and managers to determine effective remediation techniques, such as job skill training pr personal intervention, to resolve human relations issues among personnel.
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Plans and conducts monthly safety meetings and mandatory training courses, as required by law.
- Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
- Prepares and files reports of accidents and injuries at establishment.
Minimum Experience/Education Requirements:
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to interface well with all employees of the Company and to represent the Company in a highly professional manner. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Must be multi-task oriented.
Language Ability:
Must be Bilingual. Ability to understand written and verbal instructions. Ability to effectively read, speak and communicate in English and Spanish in order to effectively present information verbally one-on-one and in group situations to customers, vendors and other employees. Ability to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
**Supervisory Responsibilities: **No supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work near moving mechanical parts; in areas with fumes or airborne particles; variable temperature conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
