What to Expect
As an Incoming Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for critical component development, quality management, continuous improvement, qualification activities at suppliers and for managing the incoming quality program. The job requires effective communication at all levels both with internal and external teams, conducting failure analysis, leading statistical process control activities for critical components, process development, First Article Inspection planning and execution and on-the-spot critical decision making.
What You'll Do
- Drive improvements utilizing Lean methodologies, Statistical Process Control, scorecards, ensuring supplier compliance, whilst driving systematic problem solving and process improvement plans
- Based on performance and business needs, set priorities for cross functional teams and suppliers
- Develop positive relationships to manage, implement, and track supplier / engineering, design changes, capacity studies and New Product Introductions
- First Article Inspection planning and execution and development, implementation and management of incoming quality processes
- Provide leadership and guidance during investigations of major problems and or special projects focusing on incoming quality inspections
- Perform root cause analysis, coordinate, and conduct specialized testing and measurement
- Keep up with current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends that concern product quality
What You'll Bring
Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Engineering, or equivalent experienceSix Sigma or ASQ certification is preferredExperience and knowledge of PPAP / APQP processesIn-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and sampling inspectionKnowledge in Statistics, Statistical Process Control and data mining and analysisPossess demonstrable leadership abilities and previous experience managing safety critical partsAbility to communicate and direct supplier activities at the management level with proven results in meeting customer requirementsAbility to define and execute a project using project management techniquesStrong verbal and written communication skillsCompensation and Benefits
