VP of Finance
Rapidly growing Real Estate Investment Firm is seeking a VP of Finance. The VP of Finance will play a critical role in maximizing profits and planning for long-term growth.
This includes analyzing accounting data, operational information, and market trends to advise executives in strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities : Strategy
Strategy
- Serve as a financial advisor to the executive team for strategic planning purposes.
- Plan and execute financing initiatives, create strategic partnerships, and identify and analyze potential funding sources and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain effective long-term relationships with accredited institutional investors (i.e., family offices, private banks and insurance companies, endowments and foundations.)
- Monitor all financial activities to maximize the companys profits and plan for long-term growth.
- Communicate and present financial analysis to executive management.
- Be proactive with the firms financial stakeholders, including lenders, financial partners, and private investors to develop relationships
- Represent the organization externally in industry, banking and investor relation matters.
- Ensure that the firm is creating and adhering to the strategic capital plan.
- Contribute to the development of the firms non-financial strategic goals and objectives as well as to the overall management of the organization.
Financial Operations
- Financial reporting, forecasting, planning, budgeting, financial analysis, cash management, and procurement
- Provide timely and accurate reporting of financial information to internal parties, government regulators and outside agencies
- Audit and improve productivity and effectiveness of current cross team processes.
- Manage and supervise all AR / AP cycles with external partners and customers, including the implementation of accounting and billing systems and controls.
- Conduct regular audits of expenditures, assets and liabilities.
- Oversee accounting operations, including payables, receivables, payroll, and tax preparation.
- Develop appropriate tracking methods for revenue and expenses.
- Lead and manage the budgeting process.
- Gather financial data for analysis and forecasting with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance.
- Coordinate the preparation of annual, quarterly, and monthly reports.
- Manage insurance coverage for the organization, including legal and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement a system of financial proforma policies, budget sign-offs and responsibilities, internal controls, and procedures.
Team Development & Leadership
- Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, set objectives, establish priorities, and conduct annual performance appraisals.
- Contribute to the inter-departmental work of the real estate, finance, and executive office teams on project capitalization.
- Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values a commitment to quality.
- Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development.
- Mentor and develop team using a supportive and collaborative approach.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive Accounting / Finance experience with 5+ years of experience in a management role
- Real Estate industry experience is strongly preferred
- Relationships with private equity and banking partners.
- Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a growing organization.
- Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven managerial and supervisory experience.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Results-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize
- Proactive team leader who can impact strategic and finance initiatives.
