ULTRASOUND TECH - CARROLLTON
Position Summary
The technologist works under the direction of a radiologist, performing the specific section procedures with high quality. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply the prescribed diagnostic imaging equipment for production of high-quality images. Assume responsibility for designated areas or procedures as requested.

The department provides diagnostic ultrasound imaging services within the health care facility to patients in need.
Qualifications
- Maintain current licenses and certifications as required.
- Obtain registry license less than one year from the date of hire.
- Complete and adhere to knowledge gained through annual employee education.
- Ability to meet and interact with the public in a mature, courteous, and professional manner.
- Ability to operate equipment within the department.
- Maintain Aultman attendance standards.
- Experience preferred.

Comfortable speaking and communicating with colleagues and patients.Detail oriented.Communicate effectively.Adaptability to changing work environment or needs.Computer, keyboard skills preferred.Responsibilities & Expectations
Identify each patient and review physician orders for accuracy.Properly position patients for high image quality.Medical record documentation in HIS and RIS or systems required per department.Review each examination for quality.Maintain cleanliness of equipment and stock supplies.Communicate pertinent information to supervisor or responsible individual.Explain exams / procedures to patients and address any questions or concerns.Adhere to Aultman policies and procedures.No direct reports for this position.Working Conditions
Hours may vary as required by job. Weekends and holidays.Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day.Sitting, standing, moving during work hours.Lunch periods and breaks are coordinated with other staff members to maintain adequate coverage.Cross training in areas of the department as required.Colleagues may be assigned to various locations within the foundation.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.Hazardous Exposure Category
Category I - Includes tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. All procedures or other job-related tasks that involve an inherent potential for spills or splashes of, or mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids or tissues are Category I tasks. Use of appropriate protective measures is required for every employee engaged in Category I tasks.
