We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations of a portfolio of commercial real estate assets in Brentwood, Tennessee. This role is integral in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of all financial records while collaborating closely with property managers, development teams, and executive leadership. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of property and development accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes.
Responsibilities :
- Manage all accounting operations for property management and development projects, ensuring efficient monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Analyze and accurately record project costs, capital expenditures, and operating expenses.
- Prepare and review financial statements, operating reports, and balance sheets for properties and development projects.
- Perform detailed reconciliations of bank accounts, escrow accounts, reserves, and fixed assets.
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with property and development teams.
- Oversee expense reconciliations and ensure timely communication with tenants regarding required adjustments.
- Support annual audits and fulfill lender and partner reporting requirements.
- Supervise accounts receivable processes, including tenant billings, rent collections, and cash receipt management.
- Oversee accounts payable functions to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Mentor and lead the accounting team, fostering growth and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in commercial real estate.
- Expertise in property and development accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as MRI Software and AvidXchange.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical abilities and organizational skills to manage complex financial data.
- Proven experience in leading and developing teams.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance and industry regulations within commercial real estate.
