Job description

Transportation Engineer III / IV – Build Cool Things in Colorado

Western Slope, CO (flexible)

Full-Time | ️ Transportation Engineering

90,000 / year - 150,000 / year (based on experience)

Love great mountain views, fresh air, and designing the roads that make Colorado shine? We’re looking for a Transportation Design Engineer III or IV who’s ready to work on meaningful projects — from roundabouts and highways to multi-use trails and everything in between.

If you’re the kind of person who enjoys both big ideas and hands-on design, and wants to live somewhere with an actual work-life balance (yes, that’s real), keep reading.

️ What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing streets, intersections, trails, and other transportation projects that people actually use every day.
  • Creating plan sets, specs, and estimates like a pro.
  • Working with design standards (AASHTO, CDOT, and local guidelines).
  • Teaming up with drainage, structural, and survey folks to bring designs to life.
  • Managing parts of projects, leading smaller efforts, and supporting bigger ones.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and helping grow the work.
  • Mentoring junior engineers (if that’s your jam).
  • Occasionally getting out of the office to see your work in the real world.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil / transportation engineering (or something close).
  • Colorado PE or ability to get it soon.
  • 4+ years of experience in transportation design (more = great).
  • Civil 3D skills and solid understanding of roadway design.
  • A knack for problem-solving and clear communication.
  • A valid driver’s license (because site visits happen).
  • What’s In It for You

  • Competitive salary :
  • Engineer III (4–10 yrs) : $90,000 - $115,000
  • Engineer IV (8–15 yrs) : $115,000 - $150,000
  • Medical, dental & vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with employer match.
  • Paid time off, 8 holidays, and parental leave.
  • Employer-paid disability and life insurance.
  • Bonuses for great work.
  • A team that actually likes working together.
  • Why You’ll Love It Here

  • You get to work on projects that make a real impact in Colorado communities.
  • We value balance — not just on paper. That means flexible vibes, great people, and room to grow.
  • The mountains are your backyard. Skiing, biking, hiking? Check.
  • You’ll be part of a collaborative, close-knit group that celebrates wins (and knows how to have a little fun along the way).
  • We’re All About Inclusion

We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We know that different perspectives make us stronger, and we’re committed to building a team that reflects the communities we serve
