Lucas Tree Experts, a leader in the tree care industry, is looking for a Fleet and Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Portland ME.
The Fleet and Logistics Coordinator is responsible for performing day-to-day tasks such as maintaining and developing relationships with vendor partners, coordinating with our field crews and utility supervisors, bidding and negotiating with suppliers, maintaining and calculating inventory levels to maintain efficient operations, as well as compiling tabulating and auditing data in a timely and efficient manner.
The Fleet and Logistics Coordinator is also responsible for : Observing, receiving and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public and other external sources.
Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish work. Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
The ideal candidate should be self-motivated with strong written and verbal communications skill, and attention to detail.
Additionally the candidate should be comfortable with technology including but not limited to : laptop and desktop computer systems, various software including the Microsoft Office Suite, mobile phone systems, and printer / scanner / fax machine systems.
Responsibilities and Duties :
- Represent the company in negotiating pricing with suppliers.
- Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers.
- Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs, ordering more materials when necessary.
- Respond to inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
- Contact suppliers to schedule deliveries and to resolve any issues.
- Review requisition orders to verify accuracy and specifications.
- Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers.
- Compare suppliers' bills with bids and purchase orders to verify accuracy.
- Locate suppliers, using sources such as catalogs and the internet, and interview them to gather information about products to be ordered.
- Prepare and execute fleet related documents including but not limited to registrations, insurance, customs, DOT reporting, etc. as needed.
- Directs and coordinates activities of logistics personnel.
REQUIREMENTS :
Must be 18 years of age with a High School Diploma / GED / or equivalent.
Must have a current and valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
Must be physically able to perform the requirements of the position (i.e., walk on uneven grounds, carry 75 lbs.)
Must be able to successfully complete a post offer physical & drug screen as well as a background and motor vehicle check.
This is a full time position. Lucas Tree Experts requires the successful completion of a post offer physical, drug screen and a Background check with MVR in order to be hired for full time employment.
