Arch Resident Assistant
SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Student Enhancement Project Coordinator, the Akwesasne Research Center for Health (ARCH) Resident Assistant is responsible for chaperoning and guiding ARCH summer internship students through the High School Summer Research Internship program.
The ARCH Mohawk Scholars Program engages high school youth in a series of learning opportunities focused on understanding and participating in biomedical and health research.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following :
- Establish a working relationship with youth participants, fellow Resident Assistants and administrative staff.
- Drive a 12-passenger van, and willing to complete any training associated with this responsibility.
- Participate in and co-facilitate student activities, including planning meetings, a two-week prep course, and summer internship programs.
- Will be traveling to Buffalo, NY and stay on a college campus for the duration of the three-week program.
- Assist and provide support to summer internship residents during their stay in the residence hall.
- Enforce university and residence hall rules and regulations
- Work as part of the team to make sure that students are on schedule for internship activities.
- Other related job duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : Resident Assistants will act as chaperones / advisors during summer internship program.

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE :
- Current enrollment and good standing in bachelor’s or graduate degree program, AND.
- Must be able to drive a 12-passenger van, and willing to complete any training associated with this responsibility.
- Experience living in on-campus housing and working knowledge of university and residence hall policies and procedures is preferred.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Strong oral and written communication skills required. Must have excellent people skills. Clean driving record and ability to drive is a must.
Must be 18 years of age or older have and maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Fleet Policy.
The successful candidate must pass a drug test and criminal background check prior to employment.
