Mechanic

MECHANIC Municipal Garage City of Middletown, Ohio The City of Middletown is accepting applications for the position of Mechanic. Salary Range : $25.55 - $34.19 hourly plus benefits. This is skilled mechanical work in the preventive maintenance and repair of city owned vehicles and equipment. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Garage Superintendent. Normal hours of work are 7 : 30 a.m. to 3 : 30 p.m. Requirements : High School Diploma or GED with experience in repairing gas and diesel motors and equipment units, buses, vehicles, and apparatus. Necessary Special Requirements : Possession of a valid Ohio Driver's License or a valid Ohio Calss "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the following endorsements : Tanker (N), Combination (T) with air brakes. Possession of a CDL is not a requirement to obtain this position, but a CDL with proper endorsements must be obtained within six (6) months of employment. Failure to obtain a CDL Class 'A" with proper endorsements within six (6) months of hire date shall be grounds for dismissal.
