Salary Details : The academic year salary for an assistant professor will not be less than $82,110, based on the most recent collective bargaining agreement between the faculty union (AAUP-AFT) and Rutgers University.

Posting Summary : The Department of English at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in film and media studies. Appointment Details : The appointment is expected to begin on September 1, 2026. All job offers are contingent upon successful pre-employment background screening prior to commencement of employment. Applicants must have demonstrated a commitment to effective teaching and mentoring and the ability to maintain an active research program. The successful candidate will have a 2-2 course load and teach a range of film and media courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
