Position Overview
The Transportation Lead will oversee and manage a fleet of DOT drivers, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods. This role requires a Class A license and involves equipment maintenance, creating routes in Samsara, coordinating deliveries, monitoring routes, communicating with drivers, handling changes, maintaining records, resolving issues, and delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage a fleet of DOT drivers to ensure timely deliveries.
- Maintain and repair transportation equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Create and optimize delivery routes in the Samsara fleet management system.
- Coordinate deliveries and monitor routes for on-time arrival and condition of goods.
- Communicate with drivers about routes, traffic, and delivery instructions.
- Manage changes or cancellations for UniUni Fleet and adjust plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and inventory levels for compliance and efficiency.
- Provide excellent customer service and address inquiries from customers and clients.
Qualifications
Must hold a valid Class A license and have knowledge in Equipment Maintenance.Strong organizational and leadership skills.Experience creating routes in Samsara or similar fleet management systems.Proficiency in record keeping and inventory management; ability to track shipment status and location.Effective communication with drivers and stakeholders.Ability to manage changes or cancellations and adjust delivery schedules as needed.Maintain good relationships with customers and address inquiries to ensure satisfaction.Preferred Skills
