Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an outpatient setting with flexible scheduling and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a freestanding outpatient PT facility focused on one-on-one patient care
  • Patient mix is approximately 70% orthopedic and 30% neuro, with a variety of diagnoses
  • Fourteen 60-minute evaluations per week per therapist; most treatments are 30 minutes, with some lasting 45 or 60 minutes
  • Therapists can choose either five 8-hour days or four 10-hour days per week
  • Chart review time is built into the schedule, with additional time provided during the first two weeks
  • No floating within the hospital or to sister facilities required
  • Epic is the EMR used, and orientation will include Epic training
  • No on-call requirement
  • Responsibilities include performing evaluations and treatments with a focus on individualized patient care
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including PTs, PTAs, OTs, SLPs, and specialists in pelvic health, chronic pain, lymphedema, and vestibular therapy
  • Hospital orientation of 1.5 days, followed by 1.5 days of departmental orientation
  • Business casual dress code is required
  • No RTO (time off) permitted during the first week of assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
  • Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to the facility as a traveler
  • Allied travelers may stay up to 12 months with a 6-month break required after service

    • Requirements

  • Current state PT license required; for IL, pending license may be considered (license required if applicable)
  • BLS certification required
  • Will accept new graduates and first-time travelers
  • References may be requested for consideration
  • Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility—no local candidates permitted
